My sister has a 2000 250 and is stuck in Marathon Fl. with a no start problem the truck is turning over but won't start. I went through the basics with her over the phone, but i'm up here and she's down there. In any event she is looking for a diesel mechanic down there but is not having any luck. If there is any recomendations I would greatly appriciate it. thank you
Yes it is in the keys. Before she left new cam sensor, new glow plug relay and new batterys. plenty of fuel in the tank, no blown fuses under the dash, but that's about the extent of their mechanical diag. abilitys
That "may" be the problem. Did she check the fuses under the hood like Ray suggested?
Some one else had a CPS go bad and they tapped it and the truck ran. I have only heard of this this one time though...
How long did the truck sit before the no start? Have her also check the engine oil, listen for the humm of the fuel pump when the key is first turned on, open the fuel bowl drain valve (right after the key is turned on) to check for a strong stream of fuel. And if she's been trying to start it for a while, get the truck batteries on a charger of set of jumper cables. Weak batteries will spin the motor, but not provide enough voltage to fire the injectors.
