Please help...easy question..

First, vehicle is an '83 F-250. The tank is the drivers side mounted 16 gallon, and it is not the original, it is relatively new. I'm trying to drop the tank to replace the fuel sending unit. I've unhooked the straps holding it up, and unhooked the electrical and fuel lines on top. Now the problem. I slid the filler tube off and discovered a smaller rubber line inside. What is it and how do I "unhook" it?

It's your fill vent tube. It allows air to vent as your tank fills. It should only extend into the about a foot or less. Just pull it out

Haha, I told you it was easy. I feel like a fool. But hey, I was able to drop the tank with about 8 gallons in it and successfully replace the sending unit using muscle and bone. Now it's Miller time. Thanks alot guys.
