Good morning Nevada.
Not sure about the open or closed. Never played with axles before. It is a lo-pinion. The seller has another D-60 and if he still has it I am going to pick it up on tomorrow. It has the 4.10 ratio which is incompatible for me but fortunately that is easily changed.

I hate being sick especially on Monday!
