Suspension Springs Interchangeability Thread.
I was initially going to call this leaf spring interchangeability but I decided to include the coils. What Im looking for is info on what you swapped and what works and how you made it work. I know 99-04 Super Duty front leafs are a direct swap into the 73-79 F-250s and some guys have run longer Chevy leafs in the rear but had to relocate shackles. This isnt a Ford on Ford only thing so if something from a Chevy or Dodge or whatever works on our trucks let us know. What works and what doesnt?

The pro comp rear springs for the f150s and 80-96 f250's will work on our rears. Part number 23411. That’s for 6'' lift they have 4'' also. Had a hard time finding them in the catalogs. Call sumittracing and they found them in procomps catalogs. The two things I found different was the rear busing bolts where 5/8 instead of the 9/16. Just had to drill out the shackle. And the centering pins for the factory block had to be drilled a little larger. I think they are 1/2'' but not for sure. I got everything together then found that out. Had to take it all apart to drill out the blocks. The superduty front springs are not just a bolt on. You will have to drill out the front bushings and hangers to 3/4'' or get the metric bolts for the superduty and just drill out the hangers. The rear bushings take a 5/8'' bolt. And if you use the procomp 6.5'' superduty springs up front with a 435 4 speed and a married t-case you will run into front driveshaft problems with angle.
