starting twice

hey guys a little help here. 99 f-150 5.4 4x4. the truck has gotton where i have to start it twice almost everytime turns over great just wont start let off the key and try again starts right up and run great whats wrong

Could be a bad IAC valve. Try holding the gas pedal down slightly when starting it. Does that help? If so, then it is your IAC. Get a new one and replace it. Good luck!

Also try replacing the fuel filter...

Ditto on the IAC you can try to clean it and replace, but i say for the PITA that it is to get to replace it no more than it costs $30 i think is what mine was at A Z my truck was doing the very same thing good luck

hey guys. i cleaned the throttle body a couple days a go it was so nasty with gunk. i don't see how it ran as good as it did. starts everytime now. thanks for the help.
