Knock sensor obsolete part?

Hopefully this will be simple to answer. We dropped the 4.9L 6cyl from a '91 F150 into a '94 F150. The knock sensor got broken and when we went to get a new one we were told it is an obsolete part and can't get one. Is this true? Thanks for the help.

Try an auto parts store, I assume you asked the dealer and that's the answer you got?

Does O'Reilly's qualify as an auto parts store? Cause that was the first place we went. I was looking for a more experienced point of view that's why I posted the question here.

You're better off asking the question in the appropriate engine forum.

It'll run without it, just make sure your timing is correct and EGR is
working as it should be. I run my Turbo cars with the KS unhooked,
all it does is throw a code during the KOER test...
