Brakes!!!
I'm having brake problems. I have a '55 Ford F-100 and seems as though my master cylinder won't release pressure, causing the front brakes to not disengage. I have the stock style master cylinder and my exhaust guy ruled out heat being a problem not to mention I've tried a heat sheild and header wrap... any suggestions. Maybe faulty hoses? Help.

Funny that it should be just the front brakes, but anyway here is my cyber guess, I think that it is the master cylinder, either the residual check vale is “sticking” on or a piece of crap has got into the small fluid return port.

I have had this happen to me several times. Both times it was the rubber hose from the frame to the front brake cylinder. The inside material deterioates and acts like a check vale and won't let the pressure back to the master cylinder. Happened to my son's Nova at the dragstrip a couple months ago with the flexible line at the rear end. Cut his time down qutie a bit with the brakes on down the track.
