Fuel Tank Sending Unit

I am in the process of removing the under seat gas tank in my 1947 Ford truck and utilizing a 1970 Mustang tank between the rear frame rails. My question is related to the sending unit. The tank I have included a ford sending unit which includes the fuel line tube. I am running aftermarket gauges that require a 240 to 33.5 ohm sending unit vs the stock 70 to 10 ohm ford unit. If I buy an aftermarket sending unit to match gauge ohms do I just have to drill it out and utilize old tube by re -soldering it in the new sending unit or is there another way to do this as the pictures of the new sending unit do not show a pickup tube? Also the old unit has a ring and the new units look like they are designed to be attached with screws.
Thanks
