I am brand spanking new to this site. A friend of mine told me i should post something on a forum and see what people have to say so im going to.
I have an 04 F-150 supercab 4x4 5.4L Triton. I bought it last year with hopes and dreams that one day i could do everything that i want to do to it. well im tired of waiting. I have never worked on a vehicle before, I started to work on my first car (a 66 mustang) when i was 16 and my mom got divorced and there went my teacher.
I was told that the cheapest easiest way to put a lift on my truck (on my own) would be to put pucks in the front and blocks in the back. i was thinking and 3-4 inch lift. nothing too extreme. also advice on tire size and good wheels. i don't need anything extra fancy. i just wanna take my truck out to play and can't do that with it being bone stock. also where i could find fairly good priced stuff to do that, and maybe a good set of instructions.
i would like to put on a dual exhaust. Any advice about that would help.
that is the most horrible f-150 i have ever seen. that person should have been shot. wow! i think i just threw up a little in my mouth lol.
no i don't need extreme. i just wanna make me happy. i have wanted this truck since i was 15. don't joke though i know that wasn't that long ago for me. but now that i have the time and the money i would really like to do this for me. i bought the truck for retail therapy in all honesty haha. but i love her. she's my baby. and i wanna make her truly a sexy piece of machinery.
Here are my plan this spring for my truck.
CAI-volant
Leveling kit
Edge programmer
New wheels and tires
and maybe California duals. good luck and keep us posted on what you get... remember PICTURES
to be 100 percent honest i have no clue what at CAI-volant is. i seriously am going into this whole working on my truck as a newbie. i don't know how to change my own oil. i have friends that are going to help me. maybe ill be more savy after all is done.
Cold Air Intake if you do some searching alot of ppl on here will have their own opinions but i have seen more ppl use Volant Cool Air Intakes . And im sure Tylus will chim in and tell us Volant is the way to go
And im sure Tylus will chim in and tell us Volant is the way to go
yes and no
get a programmer first. I loved my Volant, but it was effectively $300 flushed down the toilet in terms of performance since I never bought a programmer
did make the truck sound pretty wicked when you stomped it though
but yeah, IMO, the Volant is the best on the market. I have had it, and the Roush CAI, and I've seen the S&B/K&N/AF1 in person. Volant wins everytime for me
