when putting a 6 inch lift on a 95 f150 ext cab do you need to put on a longer driveshaft? also is there anything else i need to change other then brake lines
thanks Ryan
On an extended cab the driveshaft angle will not be as much of a problem as it would be on a regular cab, shortbox for example. Spicer recomends a maximum driveline angle of 3 degrees for a typical driveshaft. Think about a straight line coming of the transfer case yoke and the axle yoke, if the driveline is at an angle of more than a 3 degrees, they recomend a longer driveshaft. Obviously, you can fudge this a little, but if you get above 3 degrees vibrations and premature u-joint failure can be a consequence.
Personally, I would install the lift and check for vibrations and such before having a new driveshaft made. Lots of guys run 6 inchers with stock driveshafts. In addition to longer driveshafts, you can also buy shims that go between the axle tubes and springs that correct your pinion angle. Most four wheel drive shops carry these and they are inexpensive.
As for any other stuff you need, make sure the kit comes with a drop pitman arm.
