When the canister function?, it should open something, but I dont see that it does anything. Other problem is that the white hose is hardened, I think by the time and heat and got a hole, I cut one part and reconnect to the black hose, is that white hose replaceable? any # part?
That canister is something to do with your heater, no idea exactly what though. Those hard vacuum lines get brittle with heat and age, just take the broken piece into a parts store and find some rubber vacuum line that fits snugly over the hard line. Buy extra so that you can fix the next one to break too
That thing moving when people start their trucks is what makes the thud noise you hear if you leave the climate control switch turned on when you last shut the truck off. Does that make sense?
I'm guessing we're looking at the passenger's fender?
Yes sir.

The white line is vacuum, handle it carefully, they crack very easy with old age.
Start the truck and have someone move the controls on the dash from heat to MAX AC
while you watch it. It should move if it's working properly.
Ah, ok, Im going a do that, are there any replacement part for the hard line?

You can probably buy new hard lines from Ford ($$$$) so just use some rubber vacuum hose to splice it back together. Cheap, easy, nearly instant gratification

That's not the one that thuds, it's the Blend Door. The one the controls air flow to the vents, floor and defrost vents. The Blend door is spring loaded to always return to defrost in case of a vacuum loss. It's a safety thing.

Why Ford make it hard, can you complete change it for a "soft" rubber vaccum hose?, the connector at the end 90* elbow is special? I havent disconnected yet.

The only thing at the end is rubber vacuum hose, so yes you can. Also if you have a auto salvage yard around you can find those hard lines on many (many) vehicles and usually get a bunch for a few dollars.

Thank you, the gassers has the same lines?, because here in my country there are not to much salvages yards for diesels.
Yeah, the gassers had the same hard lines. You can look for hard vacuum lines in any newer vehicle as long as the diameter is close. The newer the car, the less time heat and other factors have had to break the hard plastic down. Adam

What do you want to replace the hard stuff for? The rubber will be fine, I've had it on mine for three or four years. If you replace the whole thing you'll have to follow it into the loom, thru the firewall and up the a/c heater switch in the dash
The white plastic line is 1/8 OD and the rubber line is 1/8 ID.
You dont need the 90* piece on the vacuum motor, the rubber hose will fit over the nipple.
