96 cali trucks

I have read that the 96 was the first year of the AB trucks.But they all say its was in latter trucks.The wifes 96 psd has the date of 2/96 but it has AB split shots so ther must been earlier ones also.

Any thoughts?

Yes, some of the 96 cali's have split shots, but IIRC, not all of them. I've got the AB's too.
None before 96, barring a freak test truck that ford might've made.

Any way to tell if I've got AB injectors besides taking off the valve covers? I can't remember if mine said AA or AB and I'm just curious.

The easiest way to tell is to look for the "starship" fuel pressure dampner, IIRC, it's right behind the fuel bowl, and right in front of the turbo.
