now, i might have confused people on this question before because i did post a previous thread about it, but anyway i want the c6 out of my truck and i want to put a standard tranny back in.
now my problem lies with the wonderful two piece driveline ford used in their pick-ups that year, i want to put a standard in, i was thinking mabey a t-18 out of a mid 80's pick-up ive found a number of bellhousings that will fit it.
my question is will my driveshaft need to be modified if i use the t-18, i know that it will have to be modified if i go with something like an np-435 ive located one in a truck the same year, but its 4wd and im unsure if the driveshaft off that truck will work after all, it does have a 2 piece driveline haveing a divorced transfer case and all that. can somebody out there help me?
Welcome to (FTE)!
I think a tape measure on each setup bellhousing to tail shaft will be a sure way to know!
p.s. some one may answer this without a tape measure!

I've put toploaders in my trucks, and had to shorten the shaft a couple inches and then use a slip yoke on the front to fit tranny. Doesn't have to slip actually, but works fine. This was my '67 with MX auto. My '69 was a shortbed with C6 and was a once piece shaft. I just found a shaft that would work-got lucky and didnt have to cut one.
You'll likely just have to measure up the std shift tranny(with bellhousing attached) and compare it to your C6. That will tell you what you'll have to come up with. Likely nothing "stock" will work, unless you get a T18 or whatever "truck" 4 spd comes in these trucks and find the driveshaft from one. I like the car versions as I don't need creeper gear.
