Tranny Question?

Tranny Question?
I have a 97 OBS powerstroke. it has a 5 speed in it. I am first wondering what tranny it has, how can i tell?
And also, it has started to pop out of reverse when going in reverse unless you hold it in gear. 2nd gear will also grind unless you are going less than 5 MPH (snycros is my thought) but double clutching it still does not seem to help.
And third. To start the truck you really have to mash the clutch pedal to the floor. Is that just the neutral safety switch? If so i can use the old one out of the mustang. thanks.
