Registering the beast

Anybody have any experience with registering a truck that was, in the past, appraised at a much higher price than currunt value due to age? My current project was appraised at $10000 about 10 years ago when it was a show piece. This truck is in tough shape and not(currently!) worth the appraisal price. The previous owner paid the full sales tax even when he paid much less for it. Any suggestions for a cheap old man?

picures...document its current condition...and problems and so on...if its a non runner that would, IMO, def. drop its value bigtime...try to find a local appraiser and tell the the story as they would most likely would know how to get its value corrected.

My state (Tennessee) has a below value type form, for which both parties annonate the amount and reason for value being below bluebook value etc. Check with your Vehicle Registration department, maybe they got a similar system.
The actual form is called ( Affidavit of Non-Dealer transfer of motor vehicle & boats.
Hope this helps..

Walk in with a hand written receipt for 500.00 and call it a day. 10 years is 10 years.. don't sweat it!! They wont even ask!

I had a written receipt for 50.00 on my last truck I bought. No questions were asked.
