I plan on doing the ZF swap this summer on my 85 F150. What pedal assembly do I need to get to do this? What year truck range can I get pedals out of? Thanks guys
They show these trucks had a hydraulic clutch starting in 1983. You will need the hydraulic clutch. But they show a different assembly for 88- trucks, and this is about when they start using the zf, so to be safe, unless someone knows different, I would look for the setup from a 88-up truck. The best thing to do is get a used truck that has the tranny and the everything else you need.
You need a pedal set for an 83-86 truck with a hydraulic clutch, the pedal sets from the later trucks are not interchangeable(they are dash specific.) The hydraulics from a later truck will work just fine with the 83-86 pedal set.

You can also use the clutch master cylinder specific to your year of truck. It will bolt to your firewall easier. Your firewall sort of has marks where you need to make the holes. The newer CMC's have the bolts mounted differently, but they can be made to work. The hose connections are the same on both versions of the CMC.
Check the door tag to make sure it's at least an 84-86, and every junkyard truck I have seen still has the CMC mouted on the firewall. No one wants to reuse hydraulic junkyard parts.
