fuse problem

I have 02 4x4 ext cab and my run/start fuse keeps blowing when its cold and I put it in reverse. I have 145,000 miles.the fuse controls my gauges and my throttle, when it goes I have no juice at the peddle

It only blows when put into reverse? Maybe a chafed wire in the column? It is an automatic I assume?
