It is just a one day event, mods please do not close or delete this thread due to another link to another forum.

 

Brandon... try 250 miles... not 180 (at least according to Google). It's 240 miles from ym house in Birmingham, but my wife's birthday is June 3, so I doubt I could ever survive not being home that weekend as well, even though I really wanted to go this year. It would appear that cutting across through Macon would reduce the miles, but it actually increases the distance to 260 miles and simultaneously slows down the trip due to the smaller roads and towns.

EDIT: WHOOPS... I switched the mileage labels on the pic below... it is as I wrote above... 241 miles from my house in Birmingham and 251 miles from Millbrook.

 

Hey guys thanks for posting this over here.

Once everything is finalized I will be posting a formal notice in the events section here and everywhere really. When it came down to it none of us involved with planning could have the event in PA. Its just not practical to have an event in a state you are not living in. When Wayne moved back to Florida from PA permitently it made it tough to get things organized and we didn't want it to be half **** put together event. By moving it here to Georgia I was able to get most of the event planned and people called and the event scheduled in one week.
As we have rules for the pulls determined they will be posted on the smokinevents website.

Yes Smokin will be a one day event only this year due to the economy. However this will not be a part of the actual event but anyone who wants to go to the the Atlanta Dragway's test and tune night they have every Friday night, I will most likely be there racing that Friday night before the Sled pulls/dyno on Saturday. I am not taking a names list for the test and tune, but if you show up please find us in the pits and we'll hang out.

Thanks for the info, Diane. Smokin might still be a doable thing for me, since it's now "in your neck o' the woods". Will there still be "live tuning" scheduled?

 

Jody will not be doing live tuning this time since its only the one day. We are responsible for tech in for the trucks. He will be helping with this.

 

Guess, I'll have to make a special trip, for that, some other time, but it'll be worth it.

 

If this was a 3 day event, I would go. I went to GA. already this year.

 

Well us FTE people can make it a 3 day event! Bring the camper out and lets hit it Rick! Though thats odd a Smokin with no Live tuning, that would be a good money maker there...

 

If Jody was not helping with teching in the trucks for the sled pull he would be live tuning.

We will be doing something special down here just for live tuning later this year. It will be an event dedicated to only live tuning. I have already been talking to a shop with a dyno near us that may want to host the event.

JD, there is something happening close to Dallas in may. I am thinking about going to that, because they will have a DYNO.
