yes im lookin to buy an 04 f150 4x4 5.4 either scab or screw for around 8000 with the lowest miles i can get, what do uall think my chances are. also the main ques i wanna ask is some say theirs not much difference between the XLT and FX4 besides skid plating, but ive read that the whole interior with gauges and steering wheel is leather. jus your thoughts on which would be better and what r my chances. i kno some of my post might be close to the same but im new to the sight and ive jus learned how to do everything rit so my first 2 post where pretty much identical.
Hi and Welcome to FTE. The XLT has a bench seat and different gears, mainly 3.55. This package does not have the fender flares, it has chrome bumpers and foglights as an option. The FX4 is a little bit more loaded. It has different gauges, console shift (many of them have this), upgraded shocks and suspension as stated. the bumpers are painted. Tires are 18in., different grille surround and come with the 5.4 as standard, along with 3.73 gears standard. Plus like you said the steering wheel is leather vs. the XLT vinyl steering wheel. That is all I can think of as of right now.
k do u think ill be able to find this at an auction for 8000 cash. it blue books for bout 11 give or take a thousand due to the website, always lovely info from there. but i have my mechanic with me mostly because hes my uncle and is always buying vehciles from auctions. but usually at auctions atleast ours which is very good u can get vehicles for a few thousand under what most our asking atleast i would think so. but what r ur ideas on it. acourse being patient and waiting and looking for along time will prolly help too. i havent started goin their and look yet but im going to soon with him.
Well, for 8 grand, you and I know that the truck will have high miles on it. I dont know how long you plan on keeping it, but IMO try to look for the cleanest one you can find. For better looks and towing capability, if I were you I would look for an FX4 it would be money well spent and you will be looking cool goin down the road. When you find one post some pics of the truck, keep us posted.
yea im fig for 8000 im look at atleast 80 to 100,000. but rit now im almost 19 and this is the truck i want. my parents do well but not enough to support me. i go to university of louisville and work 2 jobs mainly cus i pay for everyhting gas, insurance, w.e u kno. my parents like to raise me like that so i learn better. but anyways ive drove a 99 ford taurus for the last 3 years thruout hs and college now, its got 185,000 so im lookin to upgrade and this is the truck i want. and i have 3 grand in cash and im guna get a 5000 loan from the bank so ill have my 8. but thats all i can afford well is the 5000 loan. but anyways sorry i went off on a tangeant there. im esxpectin around 100,000 miles and as soon as i get it i plan to change spark plugs to prolly ones from brisk or champions, and flush trany and other small things like that. but yes as soon as i get it ill let uall know. but u think ill b able to swing one for 8 with 80,000 to 100,000 miles
I think you should be able to find one for that price with those miles. Hope you get what you want. Others will probably chime in and talk about the price in more detail than I can.
