i have an 89 bronco with 5.0 engine. i can drive down road just fine, then it acts like it is running out of gas. i try several times to restart it and then it runs fine like nothing is wrong. one person told me ecm, someone else told me fuel pump strainer(trash in tank). i guess if it is one or the other the difficulty and cost of parts is about the same. any ideas what this is???????????????????????????????????????????????? ??
also when i have push button 4 wheel drive and when i push button it just clicks behind dash. i have been told the actuator and also the automatic hubs could be bad

pull codes before you go spending any money on parts to diag the running issue. Ford Fuel Injection has instructions on doing this using a paperclip. you should also check fuel pressure at the rail, this will tell you if the pump is failing, and also change the fuel filter if you dont know when it was changed last. a tune up may also be needed.
as for the Tcase issue, i would start with the switch and go from there. search on the forum you will find a bunch of stuff regarding this very issue.
I have the click for the electric 4wd. Mine is from the 4wd motor on the transfer case not working porperly. This is a common problem, search a little and you will find out more about it.
Pull the codes. It may save you tons of money in unneeded parts.
i have fuel at the rail when it quits. i had another vehicle one time that the coil and distributer would get hot and it would do the same thing. its cheaper to change coil and distributer than fuel pump.
i got the 4 wheel drive problem fixed. it is real easy to do. take it lose then apart. clean it, doesn't look much different than wiper motor. as far as pulling codes the check engine light isn't on. it blinks 3 times then it blinks 3 times. typically that means no codes as far as i have been taught.
Just because the check engine light isn't on doesn't mean there aren't any codes. It sounds like you only pulled one set of codes. Was the engine running or did you just turn the key on? You really need to thoroughly read the site about how to pull codes.
