Steering is loose

Is there a bushing in the steering rack? Mine has a lot of play in it and it's annoying.

If so, how hard is this to replace?

Have you jacked it up to check ends and joints?

Had it on a lift today changing the oil, but didn't think to check that. Doh!

ive replaced the ends on mine a couple times now. Not hard but annoying. However these are famous for getting slack in the steering. its from grabbing the steering wheel to lift our lards butts into the truck. Had to have my column rebuilt a year ago.
