460 catalytic convertor
I have a 94 F250 super cab with a 460. I am having pinging problems and seem to be suffering performance. The convertor is a clamp on style and I was wondering if any of you experienced the same thing.Someone told me my convertor is melted on the inside. Ever hear of this? Any comments, ideas or where to get one cheap are appreciated. Thanks.

I doubt that a '94 has a melted cat, but I suppose it could be. Usually a cat will plug and your vehicle will not even run!! You probably have some sensor that is giving indications of a rich condition and the computer is leaning out your fuel mixture. It could be dirty injectors, bad oxygen sensor or even a bad TPS. Have someone check your codes and then start your trouble shooting.
