Code reader

Where can I get a code reader that will read codes from a 7.3 and 6.0 at the least?

Where and what price range? We've got 3 PSDs and it should be another on the way. It'd be a nice addition to the shop.

And what if I'm not willing to take my laptop into a greasy shop? Any other options?

Then your going to need at least 2 code readers.

Edit: To get something other than AutoEnginuity to read for a 7.3 and a 6.0 it would take a programmer with code reading for each truck no body makes one compatible with both engines.

Alrighty. I suppose I could use that program with a cheap laptop from Best Buy. I can't seem to find any minimum system requirements for a laptop on that site so I assume any PC will work.

Thanks again, Tracy.

I found a 350$ Toshiba laptop at Best Buy that fits the bill nicely.

So somewhere around 700$ to get everything set up. Seems reasonable enough to be a possibility.

Yea. I really don't want a greasy 1300$ Dell.

This one should fit the bill.

You could log on to ntx tools and they have a scanner called a nemysis that will handle any diesel truck up to 2009. This scanner will not only read your codes but will put it through a series of tests by checking all your injectors one by one and every other part of your system for only $531. Wiull also check cummins and duramax. Check it out you will be surprised.
