Does anyone know if the wiring is there for the signal mirrors on a 2000 XLT S Cab that didn't have signal mirrors to start with? I found a couple of OEM ones for a good price and was wondering how hard it is to wire them in?
Thanks , Larry
B2747 how did you end up doing your mirrors was the wireing there already or did you have to run it your self an if so where did you tap into the turn signal at
Go to that link on Muth's site. They'll have an install manual. What you'll find is a plug behind the door panel. The Muth directions will tell you which ones to tap into.
The Muth kit comes with a wire you pop into an empty spot of the outgoing side of the mirror plug. Then that runs to the signal part of the mirror. So the wires go up to the plug behind the door, but don't go any further. You just tap in right there.

The 97 F250 I have was a plain jane. I took the dash out to do this as none of the wireing was there. I bought a dash harness from a 2000 F150 that had all of the extres that I wanted, Signal Mirrors, Door locks, Electric windows, and ext door lock pad. The only thing I had to change was the speedo hookups. AS long as I had the dash out I changed the heater exchanger and installed a overhead temp gauge. I didn't have to tap into the signal system as it was in the 2000 wiring harness I also put in bucket seats and center console from a 03 F150. The interor is now done. In the spring I start on the exteror. Wish me Luck.
