I have a 1988 F250 w/460.The ground wire going to the battery has to be replaced. You just can't get it off the stud at the engine where it is grounded now.To tight of a space. Is there somewhere else I can ground it? Thanks.
The key requirement is that the battery ground has to go to the engine. If you already have a stock wire for it you may not have the length to bolt it anywhere else on the engine. If you could get the wire to something like a bellhousing bolt it would be ideal so long as you could keep the wire away from the exhaust. Also see it you can get it to something like the alternator mounting bracket bolt.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Lazy K. That helps alot. My boyfriend has been trying to take it off the stud, but you can't get a wrench in there to do much good. I'll tell him to just cut it off.I NEED MY TRUCK..LOL
Any bolt that goes into the engine block or, any bolt that goes into an accessory that bolts into the block will do. Make sure you also have a good ground to the frame(chassis).
Thank you to all that replied. He grounded it to the alternator bracket. Then we found out it was the LITTLE ground wire..lol. He fixed that.He told me to get another truck.I told him I would get another BOYFRIEND...LOL
