'99 250 speedo problem/ abs light

'99 250 speedo problem/ abs light
I have my father's 99 f250 and the speedometer doesn't start working until 68 mph. The ABS light is also on. After reading a few threads on here this morning I am guessing that there is a problem with atleast one of the wheel speed sensors. I was just wondering if anyone had advice on which parts to order (which sensor would make it not work 'til 68 mph) and how difficult the job would be for a semi-experienced novice such as myself. Any help you guys could give me would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

I would start with the VSS in the rear diff. My speedo went intermittent on me with the ABS light on and this solved my problem .Make sure that you get the one for the rear diff not the tranny . The R&R is simple the sensor is located on top of the rear diff unplug the wires remove a 10mm bolt pry it out with an appropriate tool oil the seal on the new one and install.
