LAST EDITED ON 05-Sep-00 AT 04:19 PM (EST)[p] I read somewhere in this form but can't find it now about using stock mustang headers on a 94 F-150 4x4 with a 5.0 engine. If I remember correctly the post said they bolted right up and worked just great. I found a set on ebay for a great price and started calling a muffler shop about putting them on when they do the rest of the exhaust later this month. The Muffler guy said they wouldn't put them on and they would always rattle and leak. This has never been mentioned on FTE and was wanting additional feed back on this project. Do I use the mustang shorties or the old stock manifolds. I don't know if they leak yet but hear a lot abot them cracking.
Thanks
Jim P.
I believe the mustang headers would need the front pipes of the exhaust system re-fabbed.
I bought a set of shorty truck headers from Summit Racing for $169
I thought the same thing with the Mustang headers. But, when I got to looking into it further I realized that the front pipes would have to be cut off and new pipes made to fit the headers.
I would try Summit, there is no telling how much it will cost you to have that front end re-done.
