What programmer do you prefer?

I want to buy a programmer that does everything if there is one. I want to read and reset factory codes along with adjustments. I would think that some are better than others. For the preice, would you spend a little more to get better options? Thanks for you input,Dave.

I like the superchips programmer. I have done that route a couple of times and have been very happy. But I plan on keeping this truck a lot longer than my last couple so I went with custom tunes by Troyer.

i have an EDGE programmer.... i think its great. it can read and clear trouble codes, has 3 programming levels (which can be customized), and you can monitor about 20 different parameters..... such as mpg, oil temp, tranny temp, etc etc.

I have an SCT X3 TUNER from 5 STAR TUNING. I love it, what a difference it makes with shift firmness, power, and torque. It will also do trouble codes, adjustments and pretty much everything else you want. Talk to Mike online here at this forumn, or go to his website at 5 STAR TUNING. The price is around the same as alot of other competitors, but the customer service and attention you receive from a mom and pop shop is second to none. He can program it for anything and has been quick in helping me when I have had problems.

I like the edge because of the on dash mounting system but it sounds like the sct x3 tuner may have more options. I haven't done much research on the sctx3 tuner so does anybody know?

My preference for Fords is SCT X2 or X3. The X2 is now gone, but I had one with custom tunes for my 6.0L P/S. I like the idea of custom tunes and the what can be done for the shifting of the automatic tranny. I'll be getting an X3 for my F-150 later this year.

I ordered a Superchips Flashpack 1815 from Strippermotorsports.com (866-706-7744) and the service was excellent! Including shipping the price was $365. They also carry other brands and were very helpful on the phone responding to questions, etc. which was much more than the other retailers were even willing to do!

I have the Edge Evo and it works great. Love the options. The truck actually passes NY state emission test still programmed. I'm not to aggressive on the customizing. Their customer service is great and they'll help you every step of the way if needed. Learned first hand. Used the wrong software to update the Evo and screwed up the truck PCM. I called them they had the factory program backed up on line from the software. They sent a new unit that reprogrammed the PCM then they had me unlock the unit and keep it. Just had to send back the old one. Less than a day and it was fixed.
