hi i just bought a 1981 f350 with a 351m in it i put a new set of plugs and wires in it its running pretty good now it has a 2 barrel carb on it my question is there is a vacume line going to the dist and thats it there are no other ones on the motor do i need to hook up the egr valve if so where does it go there are a lot of places where lines were at sometime ago in the past like bypass valves and such does anyone have a simple vacume line diagram i would like to see one theres not one on the truck anywhere thanks

Assuming the truck doesn't have AC (and therefore no vacuum-operated interior vent
controls) then most of that stuff you're asking about is for the emissions controls. There
should be a diagram on your radiator support, here's mine:
Truth be told, if the truck is running well the way it is and you don't have to worry about
passing any state inspections, it's probably best to leave it as is. The only vacuum lines
that really need to be hooked up (again, assuming no AC) are to the power brake booster
and the distributor vacuum advance. The factory air cleaner's diverter valve is also
good to have but that requires the tube from the air cleaner snorkel down to the
exhaust manifold be hooked up.
