Edge Attitude vs Insight vs DashDaq

Looking to Tune my 2003 F250 6.0 with a SCT from Innovative Diesel. Per advice from all you fellow owners of this site, a monitor / gauges is a must when doing so.

Initially, i do not want traditional gauges. I'm a digital kind of guy.

Looking for opinions on the Edge attitude vs. Insight against the more expensive DashDaq.

Both the Insight and DashDaq are OBDII monitors and I think the attitude is a "drill your own sensors" / Plug into existing sensors unit.

I like the edge because of the nice molded color matched mounts and will probably go with it first because of the price point, but how does everyone feel about driving around with something plugged (and powered off of) the OBDII port. I have not been a big custom mod guy in the past and am not familiar with how common it is to do something like that.

The other thing that concerns me is the winter temps. Do you remove them from your dash daily or at all during the winter months? It's been a rough one here in the midwest this year and all the below zero temps are not friendly to all the digital gadgets.

I have the Edge Attitude in my 02 and have never had a problem with the cold.
I live in Colorado at over 8000 feet.
It wouldnt be so simple to remove due to the wire comes right out of the monitor (cant unplug the monitor at the monitor.

Dashdaq is worth every penny. You will get tons more to monitor then with either one of the other two that you mentioned and you'll be able to pull ford specific codes(with additional license, but worth the money considering it would cost you 100 a pop if out of warranty for ford to do it). Datalogging is wonderful with the DashDAQ.

Now I know this won't help you at this time, but I'm beta testing Matt's Phalanx tuner which is the DashDAQ with the ability to tune the truck. Not out yet, waiting on some firmware revisions from Drew Tech. but it's one helluva combo. If you want more on the DashDAQ let me know.

I am looking at gauges because of towing and possibly tuning for mileage and towing down the road. I am running an 02 F350 with automatic. I read about the DashDaq but have a few questions.

Will it connect to a pyro to read exhaust temperatures?

Will it connect to a reliable and accurate trans temp sensor?

Yes you can. You have to buy a hub in order to add more then one external probe, but you can.

Yes, but I will add this the reading from the truck and the reading from an a/m sensor were only 2 degrees different and I would attribute that to the placement of the two probes. In the 6.0s, the problem isn't with the sensor it's with the dash gauge from what my experiance has been.
