Hey, I was wondering what situations are legal to replace the cat? I have a 88 F150 351W, its exhaust system is rusty and falling apart. I would like to have the whole system repalced with a high flow cat. its got over 105,000 miles on it. I heard once that you can have the cat replaced after 100,000miles. Is that true?
Thanks
Yes, if your system is in that kind of shape then you can replace the cat. Actually it can be replaced after like 70,000 miles. Or so many years, at least that's the last thing I read about 6 onths ago.
I have a high flow cat on my truck, and it has definitely made a difference in sound quality! Of course the flowmaster system I had built, and the headers only added to that sound quality.
