Just picked up a 93 F250 for a smokin' price. The CEL was on, and after pulling the codes I had a couple questions.
The first code was 122 (TPS). Okay this one is obvious, change it out. However, the intructions state to rotate the sensor assembly clockwise after hooking the blades to the rotator piece.
Clockwise looking from which direction, from the top of the the TB, or the bottom where the sensor goes??
Second code was 542 (fuel circuit failure). Both tanks pump just fine, so, could it be relay going out, or do I just need to clear the code?

Advice: pick up a service manual. Even a Haynes/Chiltons is beyond helpful on these trucks.
Per Chiltons:
**disconnect neg batt cable**
1) disconnect tps harness
2) on 5.0 and 5.8 engines, you may need to remove the throttle body
3) disconnect wiring from the sensor
4) matchmark the tps and throttle body. remove the two retaining screws.
install:
1) on 5.0 and 5.8 engines, position tps so pigtail points towards IAC valve.
2) secure tps to throttle body with retaining screws (11-16 inch lbs)
3) install throttle body
4) connect wiring
5) connect neg batt cable
EDIT: Do your fuel pumps prime when you turn the key (run for 2 sec) or do they keep running with the ignition set to "on?" Chances are there's a corroded wire or connection somewhere that the eec is picking up on.
Installation is pretty straight forward, the part about rotating the sensor just means that you will likely have to first engage the sensor to the throttle shaft before it will fully seat, and the you will have to rotate the sensor body to line up the bolt holes. I think it will be pretty obvious when you do it.

The fuel pumps prime as they should. I'll check the connections, grounds, etc. soon since both tanks are about empty.
Eric (among others) has helped me in the past with a reaccurring 542 and through a little bit of trial and error, I have narrowed it down to switching tanks while the vehicle is running. Try only switching tanks when the truck is off for a little while and see if the codes stop.
I wouldn't worry too much about the 542 in all honesty. If it doesn't come up until switching tanks with the engine running, you can just ignore that code when it comes up unless there is a dead fuel pump, but hopefully that won't take a code to figure out . 542 shouldn't turn on the check engine light, so if it's on, it's for something else .
