I want a little throaty noise, but want the Cabin very Quiet! I'm thinking a 50 or 70 series. Can anyone help me out with details?
Also, what style will fit behind the convertor. Off-set, center, etc etc?
According to the guy I talked to at FM the 70 is the quietest in cabin. There is no performance difference among the various FM models, just sound level. You can get the part nos for your truck off their web site http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/
Have you ever considered a MagnaFlow? www.magnaflow.com

30s are loud as are 40s. The non-Delta 50s are loud, the Delta 50s are fairly quiet, the 70s are the quietest. There's comparative date on FMs web site.
When you have the muffler welded up no matter what you decide to go with, ensure that the muffler casing itself is NOT directly underneath the bed of the truck, that's where mine is and DAMN is it a lot louder inside, dash resonates, headaches, etc etc.
I got a 70 series, and It's fairly mellow inside the cab, but I drove by a friend and he noted how the truck sounded: Loud. I like it, cuz I can hear it when I get on it, but cruzin yields no noise.
1989 F-150 : 5.0, shorty headers, Flowmaster cat-back, K&N filtercharger intake, March pulleys, "Multi-brand" performance ignition, soon to be Mass-Air...doesn't know she's not a Mustang

(My brother drove it, yeah he's a chevy boy, and he hated the fact that he drove my truck. But he liked how it sounded!) I know my truck sounds good, I had a guy at the gas station the other day comment on how good it sounded, and he was driving a camaro!
Anyway, Min is mounted right under the bed. I don't have any problems with the interior resonance (unless I am cruising in 1st or second and I let off of it!) But if I'm in 1st or second and I let off of it, I usually have the windows down (I guess you could say I am the classic redneck)
I am working on getting a couple of recordings made of my little ole truck. When I get them up, I'll let you guys in on it.
1988 F-150, SWB, 5.0 EFI (formerly 4.9 EFI), M5OD 5 speed, 3.08 gears, Summit shorty truck headers, Custom built Flowmaster exhaust system. Force 4 LP6000 lightbar, Federal signal PA-300 100 watt siren, Icom IC-V100 50 watt mobile radio.

1965 F-100 (just purchased 1/18/01), SWB, 390, C-6 auto. Dual exhaust, Not much else to do to it.
My dual 50 series delta flows are mounted on their sides in the stock location right behind the cab. They are very quiet inside when cruising, but with my 4 speed you can make them roar at higher revs, or when punching it off the stoplight. I love the sound, especially with the new engine rebuild.
Sounds a bit like a muscle car should. Throaty and rumbles.
Sounds on this page are before the engine rebuild, so it sounds a lot smoother and throatier now.
I don't know why you can't download the sounds. Try reloading the sound page a couple of times....I have loaded the sounds from remote computers before and it has worked ok....
And try right clicking and saving file as, as well as just left clicking,
If you want a complete system and no interior resonence, go with the Flowmaster "Force II" system. It's a 3 inch cat-back, single outlet system with a 70 series muffler.....very nice!! Trust me, I have one.
