I was wondering how good FlowTech Headers are. I found some for my truck for about $100, but if they totally suck, i will spend more and get better ones. Also, is there a performance difference between shorty headers and regular headers?
Thanx,

I had a friend put some on his truck & as far as I know he hasn't had a lick of trouble from them. He did send them off to be coated but that is all he done to them.
I put the flow techs on a freinds big block brand x truck and they fit and look awesome and seem to be quite heavy gauge tubing, the chrome ones look awesome, flow tech is made by holley even tho i hate holley the headers are nice, where did you find them for a hundred bux ?
One thing I noticed about the Flow Tech's when I used to work at Jeg's was that the quality wasn't anywhere near that of Hooker's or Hedman's. The flanges and tubing are thinner guage, and several came back with bad welds. Personally, I'd spend the few extra bucks just to for the peace of mind that I know what I'm getting is the best out there so I won't have to mess with it again down the road.
The flowtechs i saw were perfect, the tubing was atleast a .150 thou wall thickness the flanges that bolt to the head were machine very nice not like some where they slide the pipe thru the flange weld and mill the 4 tubes equal thats real chinsy, I think the flowtechs i installed might be a different brand cuz these headers were built very awesomely, almost seemed like they were made of some type of aluminum alloy or magnesium, im going out to the farm today i will check them out
I found the headers in JC Whitney, they seemed to have a pretty wide selection of headers. It has been a struggle to find headers other than shorty headers for my truck, because it is 4wd and a manual tranny. So, when they had the correct ones for my truck, I was pretty surprised.

The Flowtechs for my truck were a pain took 6hours had to lift the motor 6 inches to fit them in but now that they are in I wish i would have had them ceramic coated they are startin to rust. They seem alot better than the old type that use to be made for my truck the clutch linkage would get hung up on them.
