Tamper Resistant Outlets?
What is the deal with these? All the outlets at Home Deepo say they are tamper resistant IAW a new national electric code change. What makes them TR and what is the reason behind the change?
Is this just another code change for the sake of change or is there a legit reason?

This is code 8 classified, BUT
The spy business is through the roof right now. So, it's to make it more of a PITA to wire your house to blow when you turn on a lamp.
Great investment if you ask me, but "me" doesn't exist.

I guess someone overheard me telling about the time I stuck a wire carpet tag into an outlet. These have shutters that keep things out other than a plug. More info:

So, in other words, these outlets were created for idiot kids like myself. When I was three I stuck my mom's keys into an outlet. Got zapped pretty good too from what I have been told....
