Sorry about the wrong spelling. I don't think I'm illiterate. So the main gauges you need are trans, egt/pyro, and boost? Is that correct? What do you think, digital, or not. I don't want the dealer to think that cause I have a digital gauge I am running a programer, which I am not. Yet anyway.
I would go with the tranny temp gauge before I'd opt for the Boost gage. Your existing boost gage is lots more dependable than the trans temp gage. Next for me would be eiither a oil OR water temp gage, THEN maybe the Boost. Do you tow?
I hav edigital guages in my truck and I am satisfied with them. I like the fact that one monitor lets me read EGT, boost, water temp, and tranny temp at the same time. And it fits under the a pillar grab handle.
I will be towing a goosneck. I was thinkning about the pillar mount, but I love it when you get a flashing warning light on the dig. gauge. My dad has them in his cummins. I don't know what to go with. With a dig. gauge you can monitor 4 things. What are the most important?

With the dashdaq you can monitor up to 9 things that they already have a layout for, however, because it is a linux based system you can actually modify that to fit whatever amount that you want, providing you like how they appear on the screen that is.

EGT, Tranny Temp, Boost(factory is off by 2 psi in my experiance and I would say it's due to the electronics), and either EOT or ECT(it's up for debate, however, if you monitor both EOT should be ~15 degrees higher then ECT).
It actually says, you can view up to 24, I haven't seen that screen yet, I use 9 plus a datalogging graph fixed for 5 min. There are a lot of neat features that this little baby can do that blows away the older stuff. I need to look at the Nexus though, the new SCT Xtreme still doesn't come close, it's wireless, but that's about it.
Ok, stupid question time. I know a lot of guys have gauges that they've installed. Am I to understand that you can use an OBD device reader, like DashDAQ, and it will give you the same information (using factory sensors) as the aftermarket gauges you install? Yes/no? If that is the case, then I think I know which direction I want to go when the time comes.
There is some variation of the readings, not much, but I would speculate that it's due to the placement of the gauges and/or having to go thru alot of resistance due to the amount of electrical work that causes those variances. I have both in my truck and most seem to be inline with what I already have or in the case of EOT, the reading that I'm getting thru the computer matches within the ~15 degrees that most say that EOT and ECT are and both the computer ECT and the analog ECT are almost spot on.
