I would like to hear from anyone that has a Borla cat back system as i am considering one for my 2001 F-150 4X4 supercab XLT 139"wb 5.4L V-8. I would like a fairly quiet but noticable sound and no loss on the low end. Am i looking at the right system?
There is a review of Borla Systems at the following site (see page 3 or 4 of article at site). Application to the 4.9l I6 and 4.6l V8 are discussed. May be helpful:

My friend has that system, split-rear, cat-back, on his 2000 F-150 with the 5.4L. It sounds sweet. Nice mellow sound when idling and normal driving, but when you get on it, you wake up the beast inside! I have that system on my 2K ranger w/ 4.0L. I have also added an aftermarket air filter, the one that replaces your factory airbox. It has added some more rumble to it, plus it added a little more power.
