390 not running
recently replaced timing chain
but before this the same symptoms
engine starts but dies when you give it gas
and doesnt run for more than 25 secs
what could it be
ive recently replaced both heads painted every thing but i dont think its a ground issue checked my float levels in the carb
checked for spark
i keep restabbing the dizzy but i get warm but still doesnt run for a long periods

After it quits, is there gas in the carb? Pump the throttle and see if accel pump squirts. If no fuel, then check pump and all rubber lines. Collapsed lines is very common issue.
The stalling when hitting throttle could be a few things: lack of accel pump shot. Can you rev it slowly?

ok
ive done this but im thinkin some thin difft maybe you can help
ive installed the pertronix igniter does the base mounting plate have to be grounded
"What if it doesn't work? According to the folks at Pertronix (Marvin Grebow, Jr., Technical Department) the biggest cause of not working is due to poorly grounded baseplates. The Pertronix unit is a 3-wire system, red is input power, black is the switched output line, and ground (earth) is provided through the baseplate. Pertronix has given me permission to copy their Module Test onto this page. It's an Adobe Acrobat file named Module_Test.pdf. Their phone number is 1-800-827-3758."
im gonna try this all lines have been replaced tho
and i have a gauge coming off the fuel pump that reads 5.5 to 6.5 psi
replaced all carb filter and lines replaced fuel filter

Have you checked for vacuum leak? Considering you've done all this work its more than possible, I know it took me 3 times to get mine right between leaks on the head gaskets and vacuum leaks on the intake manifold.
