Generator concerns
Anyhow, the 64's generator seems to be not working. At any rpm the dummy light in the cluster is ablaze. I decided to disconnect the battery (as I would normally test a alternator) and yes the truck dies, no matter what rpm it's at.
Last night while letting it run on to hopefully let some MMO work on the rings that are surely clinging to the pistons like a scared child to the parent on school day #1. I reached down to listen to the exhaust which is dumping just behind the cab(rusted/busted old pipe) and felt a light tingle sensation on the fingers, thought it may just be a nerve or ? Then while shutting off the truck later, that same tingle came from the key in a slightly more pronounced fashion. Just enough to notice really but certainly an electrical current.
So,
1. does the battery alone produce enough current if the truck isn't grounded properly to do this ? Would the ignition play a part in this and produce the voltage needed to have felt the current ?
2. Or is the generator possibly working and the system not grounded well, leading to the dummy light being lit, and flowing current passing through the truck?
3. How/What is another way to test the generator's functionality?
4. I assume, (like once before with a boat trailer) if the trucks not grounded properly and flowing current, a test light would tell this if placed to the body, other panels, key etc.. and grounded somewhere(battery)

TIA for any electrical wizardry you may have to share. This is my greatest weakpoint.
