Cosmetic Change?
So guys after much thought I came up with an idea that I'm not sure if it's retarded or not...
Ya know the big screaming chicken found on the hood of 77-81 trans ams? I was thinkin about drawing in ice ickles off the wings, and putting snow flakes coming out it's mouth instead of fire, and slapping it on the hood of my truck dubbing it 'the snow bird'
I really like driving the '78, but it don't do snow very well. Since there is no shaker hood for the truck, perhaps the bird would suffice? Would this look terrible or be cool?

So are you planning on having a stick on graphic of the bird made for your truck? If it makes you happy, go for it! Everyone has their own ideas/perceptions of what is aesthetically pleasing for their vehicles. Personally, I go by KISS. But like I said, if you like it, more power to ya!
If it's a sticker or something removable, all the better. I wouldn't paint it on though.
I personally wouldn't do it. Kinda reminds me of some 1980's thing, or makes me think the vehicle is driven by these guys:

I would be suprised if he painted the "Snow Bird" considering that he recently had the entire truck painted.

Welp... I personally wouldn't do it to my truck, but if you think it would be cool, that's what counts. I would, however, be interested to see how it turns out.
For me to consider something like that it would have to be some graphic that was originally on a Ford product. Like, maybe Boss stripes or somthing like that...?

Now that's an idea! Have the wings of the bird come over the front fenders and down the side of the truck to about the fron og the doors...

Well i guess whatever floats your boat or blows-up your skirt etc..etc.. but personally for myself i wouldn't do it either.If you do i would like to think you would have a proffesional artist draw it up and a proffesional to either make a mylar (or similar/suitable transfer) or paint it on. This as i would imagine could get pretty costly and then what happens if you really don't like it.

I say do it dude but make it yours go to one of them computer graficks places and get a coupel renderings some places can even add the proofs to your picture if you like it thats all that matters

See thats what I needed to know, the only thing I would ever paint on the truck would be a silver accent like they used to do on the old 60's fords, taper up from the wheel wells up to the hood and the single stripe up to the cab
After gettin all your input perhaps the bird would be tacky, I guess the one thing taken from this think tank is the coolness of a shaker hood.
If yall wouldn't put the bird on your hood I think thats a good way to say its a bad idea... now would yall put a cobra jet shaker on your trucks? I think the hardest part would be gettin the hood cut such that it isnt a wobbly piece of **** when i'm drivign down the road (thats a trans am feature
