FWIW, I've had UVC (under valve cover) harness issues. The plug would get loose and no GP's and injector issues while loose - but truck would start right up, just had a baaaad miss. Its kinda cold where you are right now, so that could make a difference. It may sound silly, but are batteries GOOD. The engine can easily turn over - but if less than 10.5 volts to computer, no start. Could even cause weird problems while driving... Engine oil level OK? These trucks won't run w/o oil.
I have been able to get the engine to start. it runs rough. the batteries are new and oil level is good. The UVC harness it the frist thing I'm gona check tomorrow when I finally have some time to work on it.
I replaced the fuel filter because it needed it and didn't help. after getting truck towed It started right up but was running very rough. I tried to move the truck to my garage and it didn't have enough power to move and it stopped running when I tried.now it wont start again.it turns over strong and tries to start but just stumbles. Tach shows some rpm when turning over.dont get a check engine light or service engine light. i have checked the under valve cover harnesses and they look good and weren't loose. i havn't been able to find a scan tool that will work. mt programmer will be hear monday and then I'll be able to see if there are any codes. so any more Ideas? This is my first diesel so I am kinda lost on what to try next. when it was running and when trying to start it putting out a good bit of grayish white smoke.
Well, it should run, even if fuel pump was bad - so its prolly not that. Open bowl drain and turn key on, if fuel comes gushing out, the pump works.
I had weird issues including no-start after doing the 10k mod the first time. Moisture got in ICP plug and caused a mild short. I guess you could look in there if you've washed engine recently.
