Need transfer case linkage!
I have a '94 F250 XL w/auto transmission (5.7L). 106kmi. The shift linkage for the transfer case broke seized up and the aluminum housing for some part of the linkage cracked.
There aren't any available at local salvage yards and Ford is now requiring two separate ones to be somehow married together for an incredible sum of money.
My search didn't reveal much - except that this seems to be not all that uncommon. One person suggested a home-fix using hardware-store parts... is this a reasonable fix??? (hey, the mechanic said that w/dealer parts, we're looking at almost $700, which obviously is not an option). Someone else suggested Rock Auto Parts, but they didn't appear to have transfer case linkage (tranny linkage, yes, tfer case..no)...other similar suggestions welcome!
Does someone... 1) have one they can part with?
2) know of an aftermarket (i.e. NAPA, but would sell such things unlike NAPA or Autozone) manufacturer that would sell such parts???
Thanks for your help,
-Jeff
EDIT: Sorry, just seen you're in Ohio.

If you can't find used parts, new parts are still available but not cheap.
