No the horn does not work. So here is the whole story, I bought the truck and the previous owner had replaced the entire steering column due to sloppy bearings. The new column did not have cruise. I recieved the old column from him with the truck and it still had all the wiring for the cruise, so I removed the switches from that wheel and soldered the plug from the old column onto the switch wires. Plugged it in under the dash where the plug was just hanging, went for a test drive and nothing so... this is where i am.
I cannot say whether the switching of the columns is playing a role here, but this is a common problem caused by the clockspring in the steering wheel. The problem renders the cruise and horn inoperative.
What year is your truck?
Does it have driver's side airbag?
If so, you may be getting the 3-2 code with your airbag warning light.
The 3-2 code is for the clockspring.
Here are a couple of links https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/2...uble-code.html https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...&albumid=12476
Hope this helps
Well the clockspring is not an issue. I completely bypassed it, the switches are mounted on a panel I made, not on the steering wheel. There is no abs light on, and I'm not sure if there is a bag in this wheel or not, either way it doesn't matter because it's not hooked up. The truck is a 92. The fuses are all good, so I'm not sure were to go from here.
I would start with a schematic, and verify the entire circuit is there and hooked up. you might be missing a plug somewhere. They may have tucked it up or even cut it off when they changed the column.
