oil filter?
hey yall.i'm working on a 390 to put in my 68 f350.i have 2 choices for oil filter housings.the horisontal that came with the truck's 360,or the verticle that came with the 66 t-bird 390. my question is will that verticle fit my 68 f350?i cant remember how close it was to the cross member its been out so long but i'm getting closer.

The vertical mount puts the filter very close to the crossmember.
If the rubber motor mounts are old and soft, the filter can hit the crossmember, splitting it open
If you install the vertical mount, use Motorcraft oil filter FL300, which is a shorter version of the original filter = FL1A.
FL300 was designed for 1975/78 Mustang II's with a 302, because FL1A woudn't fit in the space alloted.
