hello everyone im the newb and could really use some help. i got a 64 shortbed stepside and i am almost done rewiring the whole friggen thing. (im about 35 hrs into it!) pain in the butt....anyway can anyone tell me or show me a picture of the gauge assembly? im looking for whatever kind of piece covers the high-beam indicator. it just looks really bad without anything over it...also does anyone know where to buy/find such a piece? any help would be great!!
I have been told that you can get film from craft stores to be used. I guess you could get the color of your choice too since you are doing it yourself.
First and Foremost, Welcome to the Family of Ford Truck Enthusiast! There are a couple of different type instrument panels, and configurations. Few weeks back purchased a couple clusters off ebay, primarily interested in the speedo and gauges, and took pic's of the Custom Cab panel just to check them out. It's difficult to see from the pic's but the indicators are nothing more than a round thin sheet of the appropriate color film, or plastic taped to the back of the internal instrument panel. The other cluster is for the Standard cab, and although I have not gotten around to disassembling yet almost certain it has the same thin color film.
Welcome, Sempre Fi, Ooorah, and all that. I used a bingo marker from a bingo set I have. A piece of white plastic from a sourcream tub lid and a red sharpy will also work.
if you don't mine could you tell me what you paid for the custom cab dash -assmbl.>i have 2 of them in great shape i might sell or trade for what i might need thanks
I set it up to receive daily ebay emails and see CC, sweeping speedo, and Standard dash on regular basis. The price depends on the condition of the panel, and if the gauges are included. The plastic can be repaired, and rechromed, purchased a CC dash couple yrs back and had it shipped directly to the plater, including the shipping came to $125. There was a 'buy it now' CC cluster, with working gauges, on ebay that sold yesterday for $30, and free shipping. If the emails I received from this thread is any indication, suspect if you are interested in selling there may be few members contacting you, unfortunately, I am not. Also, suggest posting ad in the FTE classified, with pics.
thanks dave for the fast update on ebays prices/shipping and yes photos and good detailed-specs/info are the only way to go with selling your items and parts online!ps. great jpg. photo layout on fte. site
