Well I have been dealing with this problem for about two weeks. Temp here has been in the teens-20's. If I plug my truck in, it starts fine. If I dont plug it in, the batteries go dead. Had both batteries tested and they are good. If its not plugged in and I try to start it...It cranks for about 1 sec and then its done. If its plugged in it fires up after about 2 sec of cranking. I have pulled both batts out and charged them prolly 3 times this past week. I dont know where to look. Guess I will just keep it plugged in.
OT....I just found out Im the new leader of the Indiana Chapter....and..STEELERS WIN #6!!!
Zach congrats on the chapter leadership!! How old are the batteries? What size are they? When you get them tested is it after you get the truck running?
1050 cold cranking amps. About 5 months old. I took the batts out and charged them at home then took them in the wifes are to autozoo so they could test them.
Its had another electrical problem lately too. The dome lights comes off and on when it wants too. Never says door ajar or anything. Very annoying at night.
You got gremlins!! Try spraying the latch with wd-40 I had the same thing on another truck. I'd try to get the batt's tested when they are cold and gave you a hard time starting. Possibility of a bad cell or cell's that are hodiing a charge "short term"
Yeah I will. I will work on the door latches tomarrow. Truck is plugged in right now so I wont have any problems in the morning. Im layed off right now so the not starting thing isnt that big of a deal, but when I get back to work I cant have dead batts everyday when I get off work.
