I would recommend 1000 amp batteries. I dunno about the gel Optima's (I'm too poor to afford those 
) , but I think Diesel Power mag used Optima yellow tops on their 6.9 they just bought. I'm runnin 1050 Interstates.

Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.
Minimum is 850 CCA batteries.
Given the lights and all the extras on a wrecker, get the biggest batteries you can get in there.
I am running 1100 CCA Titanium batteries in mine right now, I plow snow so I have all those lights as well.
