Question Need help

I need help! I stumbled on to this sit a few days ago while looking for some parts. What a great place to hang out. I have a 50 f1 that I've had for over thirty years. I parked my truck in 1978 to start restoration (bad move). Took some things apart, repaired some things, but lost two very important things. TIME AND MONEY!! Long story short I'm now getting Old Red back together. I'm missing the stud and washer assembly that holds the front shock to the axle. If there is anyone out there that can help please let me know.

Welcome to FTE, 4thgenford. Glad to have you. Go to the blue bar at the top of the page and click on User CP. Create your profile and let us know where you are located. It helps if someone near you has a part you need. I don't have any extra parts at this time but may in the future. The good thing about these old Ford Trucks is they will wait for you. Hope you can get things moving. Create a gallery when you have time. We like pictures. Gil

Glad to have you on board with us, we are always looking for fresh people. I also do not have the part you are looking for, but here is a bump for you anyways.

I think it might also be available separately as a parts pack for the shock at a auto parts store. (NAPA?)

Ok, now I see you are in Crawford, TX. When I click on your profile, it is blank. Don't know what gives. I have been having little problems since the recent up date to the site. Gil

Welcome to FTE. Trust me, you have stumbled upon the best site on the net along with some of the best knowledge available for the parts sources, workarounds and tech articles from a number of the members on here. You will see in short order who those individuals are....

Dido what Kusto said!

You might want to search on e-bay for a set of shock brackets and ask the seller if the lower bolts come with them. It might be a $10 investment - which is alot for a bolt, but not so much to make a truck run.

No Wait, I'm lying! I have a second axel! I have the studs on it and on the original. I'm not planning on swapping them out for a month or so ($$$$$) but when I do I will be happy to send the studs - you'll have to buy a set of castellated nuts. Send me a PM.

By the way, how did you get those suckers out?

Julie
