No, they are for the 73 rust bucket. My other is a 92 GT. Took a lot of wire brush, sandpaper, then sand blast, Followed by some really hideous spray aluminum cleaner rubbed in with that new kind of steel wool that's not really steel. Gives a really dull, satin finish. Since they almost instantly started to oxidize, I hit them with some duplicolor adhesion promoter & then duplicolor wheel sealant. Should preserve them for a while & blast off easy if I want to ever polish them back out.
I've got one of the set that was good (Tire) so I didn't do its rim. If I get a chance I'll show you what I started out with. The tires had a bit of dry rot, but about a thousand time better than what I started out with. I washed them down with a can of Eagle 1 till it beaded up & left it to soak in, so they should do fine for what they are intended. Which is just hold air & roll.
The wife and I got to meet sign_man (Phillip) yesterday, He's a very personable person. We did some horse trading, got to see some of his junk(not really junk, you know what I mean!) And his nice sign shop. Appreciate it Phillip.
Hey George, Everthing is going good, weather has been great (mid 70s) Been signing up a few new members lately. BTW, are they ever gonna get the join chapter link fixed?
Hey guys, Don't forget Saturday is valentines day. You don't want to be put in the dog house....go buy your wife or girlfriend a card or candy or something, you never know what you might get in return
I spent a nice long day at the shop, I did some work on the "rustang". Polished on a Lion gas sign I just picked up, Cleaned up a bit and looked at my 66 wishing I was through with it, LOL, what did you do today?
Spent most of the week doing yard work till the bottom fell out. The wife went to Ark this weekend & I've been trying to move junk around in my shop just so I could walk safely.
I think Ford should have named them rustangs, I've yet to do body work on one that wasn't rusted, this one isn't that bad though, it's structurally sound. The guy just doesn't want to spend the money to repair the other rust on the car.
