Looking for help, I am in the process of restoring my 53 f4? Ive got the old side valve going and I want to build a bed, being a f4 it has a wheel base of aprox 130' does any one have plans ect for the lwb stepside bed? I could buy one but being in rural australia transport would be a killer, I can get the local engenering firm to fold it up but I want to do it as original as possable. the truck has duel wheels on the back and I am thinking of putting the running gear out of a 62MDL under it with disks on the front the only problem the disks are XB falcon and Im not shore what the front gards/wheel's will look like may have to find some f1 gards?
any help or advice will be grate
Dave,
Could you post some pictures (photos) of your truck. What are your plans for the truck when it is complete? Show Truck, Work Truck? I will look to see if i can find any information about the bed dimensions. if I can't find anything maybe someone with a long bed F-250/F350 could take a few measurements for you. As for the Gards (fenders), the smaller wheel opening F-100s will fit, but how they will look on a "big" truck like yours is a matter of personal taste. Good luck.

Dave, If you go to the link bellow you will find the specifications for the F-250 express bed. but it is only a 118" wheel base. Look under "new 53 f-100 specifications" The link is to a FET members web site. It is amasing all the information he has created for these old ford trucks. You will spend days going thru all the helpful info. I know I have.
